We thought a Holiday episode where we share some of our favorite female owned and operated businesses and products would be so much fun! Our hope is that you discover some great products for holiday gifting (or for yourself) AND be inspired by these women who are busy working their own businesses! They are making it happen! Even though we love the stores and products we talk about today, we didn’t necessarily know the stories and the why behind the entrepreneurs before we talked to them recently. Well, we LOVED getting to know these female entrepreneurs and the “why” behind what they are doing.

We also asked some of these ladies the bravest things they have done when it comes to their businesses. You are going to love hearing their stories and their bravery! Each one of these businesses and their websites are linked to make your Holiday shopping so easy. And, they are not endorsements or paid ads…we are just shouting them out because we love their stories and their products and we think you will too!

Hand Me Up
Nicole discovered the world of ethical and sustainable fashion and dove into the environmental impacts of fast fashion as well as the humanitarian issues it creates with forced labor and unethical working conditions. Kara loves to conquer just about anything – even the fast fashion industry, so when Nicole expressed concerns about the fast fashion industry, Kara hopped on board.

They always knew they wanted to own a business together, so one day the ideas of sharing their own kids’ clothes plus the problem of overconsumption and textile waste collided into the idea of Hand Me Up. Kara wanted to make the conscious consumer decision as easy as possible for busy moms. Nicole wanted an avenue to educate the general consumer on the impact of their choices. Hand Me Up became the avenue to do both. They firmly believe moms can change the world.

It’s so fun and EASY to shop with Hand Me Up – you simply tell them the size and gender of clothing you need. They send you 7 pre-loved items styled for your child in mix and match outfits.
They’ll choose 3 tops and 3 bottoms + one bonus item. One lucky listener will win a free bag of clothing – a $40 value!

The Rustic Child
The Rustic Child Apparel Company started as a passion project of Lauren Hall’s during a hard season. She needed a creative outlet that would help her feel more like herself again; an old soul who loves being outdoors and can use her skills to be a light.

Nothing makes her feel more like herself than when she is closer to our creator, and exploring His creation. So, designing t-shirts based around nature was her ultimate dream. She wanted to use the skills given to her to capture peaceful moments that portray God’s beauty, and also inspire others to live in the light. Thus came the name, “Rustic Child.” She sells T-shirts, sweatshirts, tank tops, long sleeves, beanies, and weather resistant/dishwasher safe stickers inspired by the outdoors. If you pick the Rustic Child as your Top 3 on our form, you will get a $30 credit toward one of the products!
